Year 11 student Nester Hakata is positive her studies at The Leigh UTC will help her fulfill her dream of becoming an architect.
Why did you choose The Leigh UTC?
Because it gives me greater opportunities for my future than any other schools.
What are you studying and why?
I’m currently working towards my GCSEs in English, maths, science as well as art, ICT and computer science. These subjects will support me with my aspirations to be an architect.
What’s The Leigh UTC like?
It’s a very friendly environment. Students are focused and get on well.
What’s your favourite lesson and why?
Art and design, because I’m passionate about painting and designing, and it links to my dreams of being an architect.
What is the best thing about the UTC?
The Leigh UTC environment feels less like a school and has a more creative atmosphere. Students and staff have a mutual respect for each other.
What’s been your best project and why?
My final art project because I’m creative and passionate when it comes to art and design. It was a montage about me, my culture and family. This enabled me to use the skills I have developed at The Leigh UTC.
What do you want to do when you leave The Leigh UTC?
I’d like to go to university and study architecture.
