Post-16 – Routes To Apprenticeships
The Leigh UTC in partnership with SEMTA deliver high quality Apprenticeships in Engineering and, new for September 2017 IT related industries. We are extremely proud to be one, if not the only post sixteen providers nationally to offer Higher Apprenticeship opportunities. Progression from the Technical Baccalaureate Pathway is an ideal route to this Apprenticeship opportunity.
The employer-led Semta Apprenticeship Service has contacted businesses in the UTC’s catchment area around Dartford and North Kent to support them to take on engineering apprentices.
Several local small businesses attended a briefing session at the college to hear about the partnership which will offer Advanced Apprenticeship Programmes including Level 3 and 4 in Manufacturing Engineering.
Apprenticeships offer the opportunity to learn in the workplace. You will be taken on by an employer who teaches you practical skills relating to the occupational area that you have chosen. You will spend one day a week at the UTC e where you will gain the theoretical support to achieve the specific qualifications for your chosen career area.
