The Leigh UTC has proved once again that the combination of STEM focused GCSE qualifications has provided a good foundation for a successful STEM career. We are proud of our Year 11 GCSE students, reaching their potential across all of their subjects, at The Leigh UTC, allowing them to follow their chosen pathways. We have continued our success with GCSE resit results and celebrate 100% pass rate in maths and 83% in English, ensuring our students can progress on to their intended careers.
“I am extremely proud of the efforts of both the students and staff. The outcomes achieved have ensure that all of our students get to their preferred destinations. These have included post sixteen here at the UTC to study level 3 qualifications, Apprenticeships and College places. We are delighted to contribute to the ongoing growth of the STEM industries in the UK with so many of our students following this pathway. Finally, I would like to say how proud we are to have yet another student, Joshua Jobson, who has won a full Arkwright scholarship. An Arkwright Engineering Scholarship is the most prestigious scholarship of its type in the UK to inspire and nurture school-age students to be the country’s future leaders of the Engineering Profession. This will financially support Joshua’s ongoing education through to University and Beyond.”

The Leigh UTC celebrates its best ever academic results at P16 and has proved yet again that the combination of mathematics and a technical qualification at Level 3 provides the foundation for a successful STEM career. Our students have all secured either an apprenticeship programme or their preferred university destination.
