Home Learning – Year 9

This week we wanted to let you know about Frankie-Mae in year 9. Frankie-Mae’s Mum works at the hospital.
During lockdown she wanted to do something to help her Mum and the other staff. Using YouTube videos Frankie-Mae taught herself to knit and crochet and she’s been making ear bands for hospital staff, including her Mum to wear.
These bands allow people wearing masks to have them supported at the back of the head rather than on their ears. Wearing masks all day that are on your ears can make their skin really sore and uncomfortable. The Leigh UTC would like to thank Frankie-Mae for making these and helping other people. We are all really proud of you! #Thankyou #UTC #STEM #HomeLearning

Thank you

The Leigh UTC would like to thank all #NHS and #CareWorkers for all that you have done so far.
We really appreciate it. #ThankYou #ClapForCarers #UTC

Last Day of Term Module 5

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank you for your continued support as we approach the end of the module. To support families that would like some activities and fun things to do while at home, learning areas have been setting some exciting optional opportunities through the

‘Co-Curricular’ sections of each Google Classroom for engaging projects and competitions. In addition to this we would like to invite all families to take part in the UTC Scavenger Hunt challenge. We have added to the site since the Easter holidays. These are optional activities that could be suitable for the whole family should you wish to take part. Students can also receive Positive points for taking part and completing activities.

To access these please check out our specially designed UTC Scavenger Hunt Google site via http://bit.ly/utcscavenger. Students will need to log in to their school accounts to access some activities and complete the Google Forms.

We are encouraging our teachers to also have a break over the half term with their families, therefore please do not be alarmed if they are not responding at the same fast pace that they have been over this module.

Finally, from everyone at The Leigh UTC we wish you a restful and safe half term break.
