End of Term Letter – December 2020

The Leigh UTC logo. A school for eleven to nineteen year olds.

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Friday 11th December, The Leigh UTC are inviting the staff and students to take part in the National Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day. We would like all staff and students to wear their normal business dress with an addition of a Christmas jumper. It is important that the same high standards of dress are followed, this means that students would not be allowed to wear hoodies, trainers or sports clothing. All staff and students will be asked to wear a Christmas jumper and donate £1 to Save the Children. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are asking students across the whole school to donate £1 via the ParentPay system. This is instead of bringing in £1 into the Academy. This payment will be available when you log in to your ParentPay account.

To find out more, you can also visit the event website at: www.christmasjumperday.org and learn more about Save the Children www.savethechildren.org.uk

In addition, Cucina will be holding their Christmas lunch for Year 10 – 13 on Thursday 10th December and Year 7 – 9 on Friday 11th December. Please note tickets will need to be purchased in advance from Cucina at a cost of £3.50. This includes a two-course lunch, a cracker and a drinkThe final date for purchasing tickets will be Friday 6th December.

The last day of Module 2 is Friday 18th December, finishing at 1.35pm. Students will attend lessons 1 to 4. They will have lunch and tutor time, before being registered and dismissed at 1:35pm.

For the start of Module 3 all years are to return on Tuesday 5th January 2021. Please be aware that Monday 4th January is a staff inset day.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a restful Christmas break, and thank you for your continued support.

Yours faithfully,

Steve Leahey
