Face Coverings/Masks Update

Three Leigh UTC students are pictured working at a desk. Two use laptop computers and one uses a pen.

Dear Parents/Carers,

As of today, Thursday 27th January 2022, face coverings are no longer recommended by the Department for Education in schools for staff, pupils and students in Secondary Schools.

If your child wishes to continue to wear a face covering, they are welcome to do so. It should be plain, without any logos or images so as not to attract attention or distract students from their core business of learning. We will continue to ensure enough hand sanitiser stations are available as good hygiene remains a priority for us with students washing their hands on a regular basis.

We would like to remind all parents/carers the importance of continuing to test your child every Sunday and Wednesday evening to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Test kits are available to all students.

Thank you once again for your continued support with this as we continue to review and implement measures to ensure all our staff and students remain as safe as possible during this time.

Yours faithfully,

Steve Leahey

Principal
