GL Assessments – English, Mathematics and Science tests

Dear Parent/Carer 

RE: GL Assessments – English, Mathematics and Science tests

During this week, your son/daughter will sit a series of short progress tests in English, Mathematics and Science. Each test is standardised against national benchmarks using the GL Assessment platform. The purpose of the tests is to provide the academy with information to support your son’s/daughter’s progress in preparation for the new academic year 2021/22, which includes: 

• Future curriculum planning
• Adjustments to learning, teaching, assessment and planning
• Potential performance
• To help identify any additional support your son/daughter may need.

Your son/daughter will not be required to revise or study for the skills-based tests and any outcomes from the tests will be reported home to each parent/carer. Before entering the examination room, it is essential that your son/daughter store their mobile phone or any other electronic devices in either their locker or the secure area provided.
