Leadership Changes at The Leigh UTC

Two Leigh UTC students are shown sitting at a desk with computers, conversing with one another.

Dear Parents/Carers,

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Mr Freeman and Mr Blyth will be leaving The Leigh UTC at the end of this module to take on a new career opportunity.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Freeman and Mr Blyth for their commitments and effortless service over the course of the years. We are confident that all the students, staff and governors will miss them.

In the meantime, we are delighted to announce that we have appointed their replacements and they will be joining us at the beginning of Module 5. Mr Alamu will be replacing Mr Freeman as Vice Principal for the Inspiration Academy, Mr Richter will be replacing Mr Blyth as Assistant Principal/ SENDco and Mrs Ejiofor is joining us as a new Assistant Principal. Please join us in welcoming our new senior leadership team.

Here is a little introduction from Mr Richter “Having qualified as a teacher in 2006 and then as a SENCo in 2015 I am passionate about maximising every learners’ potential and celebrating the greatness in every child. I travelled a lot when I was younger and that led me to study for a degree in languages and I then went on to complete a Masters (MA) Degree in Education from Canterbury ChristChurch University. My hobbies include running, rugby and outdoor pursuits and I have two daughters who are 9 and 11.” and from Mrs Ejiofor “ My key responsibility of overseeing Year 7s at the Inspiration Academy. I am happy to embark on this exciting journey to help sustain The Leigh UTC and Inspiration Academy core values which are the fuel for discovery, enquiry and learning. My aim is to support our students in directing their own learning and enabling them to become independent, confident and courageous learners.”

The school is in a very stable position with all the necessary elements required to aid a smooth transition to the new leadership.

Thank you for all your continuous support and I would like to wish you and your family a restful Eater Break and we are looking forward to seeing you all in Module 5.

Yours faithfully,

Steve Leahey
Principal
