Module 2 – Raising standards

Dear Parent/Carer,

It has been fantastic to welcome back our young people as we start Module 2. There were a number of changes made in module 1; such as the Y7-9 uniform, the mobile phone rules, the use of MyChildAtSchool to improve communication between the school and families and the more structured approach to homework.

The changes have had a real positive impact on learning and we are keen to bring about further improvements in this module.

In order to further reduce low-level disruption in lessons, we have decided to reduce the number of warnings given before a student is removed from a class from three to two. This means that a student will be given a single chance, and then on the second occasion of disruptive behaviour they will be removed from the classroom. We will still be giving automatic after school detentions for any student who is removed from a class. We firmly believe that it is in the best interests of all of our students that we continue to raise standards in this way.

A summary of the rules and expectations can be found here

This includes an updated equipment list, so please support us by ensuring that all students start module 2 with the necessary equipment.

Thanks for your continued support.

Yours faithfully,

Neil Arnould | Head of College
