Dear Parents/Carers,
We wrote to you last week regarding the Progression Assessments that will commence the week beginning 7th June 2021. We will send out a timetable to students over the next couple of weeks. Please now find the timetable attached to this letter.
The outcomes of these Progression Exams will allow us to determine if a student is likely to be successful at the end of Y13 and will inform teachers when preparing your son/daughter for transition. Following these exams, you will be invited to speak with your son/daughter’s teachers or Director of Learning – Post 16 to discuss next steps. Parents are expected to make every effort to attend. The date of this event is 14th July 2021.
Please support your son/daughter to prepare for the exams by encouraging him/her to put extra time for revision.
After the Progression Exams year 12 students will be taking part in Routes to Success week starting 28th June, where they will be learning how to apply for University and Apprenticeships when they return in year 13. They will develop their CVs and personal statements and complete an application, which will then give them the opportunity to have an interview with one of our Business Partners. This is one of our most successful weeks of the year and students are encouraged to fully participate and demonstrate their skills.
