The Leigh UTC held its first ‘face to face’ Business breakfast for nearly 2 years. The pandemic has seen us change a number of activities we once did in person to a virtual solution. However all the businesses attending on Friday really enjoyed the opportunity to network, meet UTC staff and students and share experiences.
Four of our Year 13 students presented their (EPQ) extended project qualification ideas to the audience. Projects included a drone, motocross bike, a dissertation and portable speakers. Showcasing our students talents in electronics, manufacture, motorsport and extended writing.
Further presentations touched on the new ‘T’ Level qualifications, LAT Apprenticeships and impact of COVID-19.
It was great to see so many contribute during the morning.
I would like to thank representatives from Fujitsu, Canterbury Christchurch University, MET Police, M25 Connect services, Bericote Properties, Wilmot Dixon, Kenard, Fire Design Solutions, Nucleus, SEM, Suscon and Thames Water.
