Dear Parents/Carers,

I would like to start by wishing you all a Happy New Year.

Following my last letter to you (dated 31st December 2020) please find below the details of our plan for all students during the coming weeks.

From Tuesday 5th January 2021, all students will be required to access online learning – all lessons will be live streamed and details as to how students can access their classes can be shared with you later today.

From Monday 11th January 2021, all students in Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 will return to school. All other students will continue to access online learning until they return on Monday 18th January 2021.

As always, the above is subject to change based on government updates in relation to COVID-19 and the transmission rates in our local community.

We will continue to offer a small scale on site provision for children of key workers and for those children considered as vulnerable. If you feel your child should be considered to attend our on site provision you should email Mr Blyth via ben.blyth@theleighutc.org.uk . Please ensure you clearly state the name of your child as well as the reason(s) for their consideration. Please note that Key Workers must provide evidence either via email or the school’s reception.

Click here to access the criteria that has been shared from the Department of Education.

Students that attend the on site provision must attend in full Academy uniform. The Academy day will run from 08:30 to 15:30 as per a normal Academy day. Students will be expected to attend with all necessary equipment, where they will be supervised whilst accessing online learning. All students are required to bring their own packed lunch and water bottle – no food service will be available.

I would like to take this opportunity once more to thank you for your continued support, I will write to you later this week sharing information regarding onsite testing arrangements.

Yours faithfully,

Steve Leahey

Principal
