Dear Parents/Carers,

What a year it has been at The Leigh UTC and Inspiration Academy! As we approach the end of the Academic year I’d like to communicate some key dates during the last few weeks of the module

Monday 4th July – Friday 8th July: Routes to success week: What a phenomenal opportunity this is to prepare our students to be competitive for the most selective jobs in the country. Students will be applying for real jobs with real companies. They will gain experience in application writing, CV writing and have applications with real local business people. Each activity will involve feedback to ensure that it is a positive learning experience.

On Tuesday, students will be going to Canterbury Christchurch University to understand life at our local STEM university.

Induction days – Current Year 11 students who have applied for sixth form are coming in to experience our wonderful Post-16 induction activities on both Wednesday 6th July and for a second day on Wednesday 13th July. Many of our Year 12 students will be invited in to support the days.

Thursday 7th July: Y12 Parents evening and progression exam results collection. Please book appointments through the School cloud. Please ensure that you are in attendance as we strongly believe that the partnership between school, parents and students is vital to long term success.

Monday 11th July – Friday 15th July: STEAM Week – this includes lots of activities, trips and activities. Y12 will be supporting Y9 who are preparing to share their wonderful community projects with parents and governors with some help from our supportive post-16 students.

Wednesday 20th July – Thursday 21st July: Sports Days! The event will be won through high participation. Further details to follow.

Friday 22nd July: Last day of school. School will finish at 1:30pm for all students.

Thank you for your continued support of The Leigh UTC. I wish you a fantastic end to the term.

Yours sincerely,

Steve Leahey
Principal
