Year 9 End of Term

Dear Parents/Carers,

As we approach the end of the school year I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have given both to your child and to the school.  I would also like to thank the students for their diligence, good behaviour and achievements.

Since starting school in September, students have been awarded over 6000 positive points and read 1410 books on MYon. Both are  fantastic achievements that I am very keen to continue into the next school year.

We are equally proud of all the students who have engaged so positively with their online distance learning and face to face sessions with their teachers.

Your child will be receiving their end of module report this week. Please speak to your child about their performance. When they return in September they will be working with their tutor and teachers setting targets to move forward academically ensuring they meet their potential at GCSE.

Year 10 will be a crucial year where your child will be moving to the UTC and embarking on the next stage of their educational journey. I have been proud of their achievements as Head of College and look forward to seeing students thrive at Y10 and beyond.

In addition, I am delighted to announce that after a Challenge Partners visit last week, the Leigh UTC and Inspiration Academy was judged as a ‘Leading’ education provider in all areas (the highest possible judgement). In addition, they awarded us a National Area of Excellence for our Business Engagement and for our Post-16 STEM curriculum.

Finally, I would like to let parents and carers know that this term ends on Wednesday 21st July at 12.45pm.

I hope you have a wonderful summer.

Yours faithfully,

Mr D Freeman

Head of College
