Details of the application process, our admission arrangements and how to apply for our fair banding test can be found below.

To apply for a place at The Leigh UTC, you must apply on the Secondary Common Application Form (SCAF) via Kent LEA Online by 31 October 2023 and register for the Fair Banding Test (see the links below), by 19th October 2023.

Fair Banding Test

You must apply on the Secondary Common Application Form (SCAF) via Kent LEA Online (31st of October 2023) and complete our Fair Banding Test supplementary form (by 19th of October 2023).
Please note if you are also applying to Ebbsfleet Academy and The Leigh Academy, your child does NOT need to sit the test at each academy.
 
When selecting schools, the school at the top of the list is regarded as your first preference. In order to have the best chance of securing a place at The Leigh UTC, we would highly recommend that you place The Leigh UTC as your first preference.

All Year 6 primary students who name The Leigh UTC in their list of preferences are required to sit a fair banding test. This is to ensure that children across the full ability range are admitted. The test can be sat at The Leigh UTC on 25th November 2023.

For parents/carers, who wish for their child to sit the test, please click on your chosen time above in order to register your child for the test. If your child has previously been entitled to access arrangements and received these in primary school, please make sure this is identified on the form. It is essential that this form is completed by Thursday 19th October 2023 (if you want your child to sit the test at The Leigh UTC).

If you are unable to access the online form, please collect a Fair Ability Banding Form from our reception at the address below, and return to us by 19th October 2023.

Open Events for 2024 Admissions

This year our Open Event takes place on Saturday 23 September. There will be 3 tours during the event with the Principal providing an introduction to each one. Please use the links below to book a tour.

Admission Arrangements for 2023/2024

Appeals

Parents/Carers of the children who are not offered an Academy place have the right to appeal to an independent Appeal Committee under the 1998 School Standards and Framework Act. Parents wishing to appeal, please complete the Appeal online form here on the Kent County Council website.

In year admissions

To apply for a place at The Leigh UTC in any year group, applicants will need to complete and return an ‘In Year Admissions’ form to the academy.
