The Leigh UTC continues to develop future STEM professionals.
The Leigh UTC is delighted to announce another year of improved GCSE results, showcasing higher average grades across all core subjects and highlighting a continued upward trend in academic performance.The academy’s commitment to delivering top-tier STEM education, aimed at preparing students for success in global markets, has clearly yielded results, with students earning comendable grades in subjects like mathematics and science.
Notably, students from disadvantaged backgrounds have shown substantial improvements in their attainment, underscoring The Leigh UTC’s dedication to ensuring equitable educational opportunities for all. In the level 2 electronics course, an impressive 29% of students achieved the highest grades of 7 or above. Additionally, the school takes pride in being the first to examine students in the newly introduced technical award in engineering.
Some notable individual achievements include:
- Alexander – average attainment of grade 8, including grade 9s in maths,chemistry, physics, and electronics.
- Keely – achievement of grade 7 in both English courses, grade 8 in maths, and grade 8 or above in all separate sciences which is particularly noteworthy, especially given her personal challenges.
