In April we were excited to welcome students and staff from our German link school Das Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium for the third time.
Students from both schools were able to engage in conversations and to gain a deeper understanding of the different cultures they all had.
The German visitors were able to have some hands on engineering experience in our workshop, thanks to a brilliant presentation by Mr Nash who was able to showcase some of the new Engineering equipment. It was a pleasure to see so many students and staff renew old friendships with students they had met from previous visits and trips.
Our German guests also attended lessons and enjoyed spending a day in the life of a Leigh UTC student. Our commemoration tree that was planted during the first visit in 2022 is flourishing and a symbol of the strong relationship between the two schools.
We are now looking forward to visiting the GeschwisterScholl-Gymnasium at Christmas time as part of our annual trip to Germany.
