This year, the German Department at the The Leigh UTC has taken centre stage, competing against several schools. Our students have triumphed in a prestigious languagenut competition, showcasing their exceptional language skills and dedication. The atmosphere is one of immense pride and joy as we reflect on the journey and achievements of our students.
The competition saw students engaging with a language app, designed to test and enhance their proficiency in German and demonstrating their linguistic capabilities. Their hard work and determination have paid off spectacularly, earning The Leigh UTC a trophy.

To commemorate this outstanding accomplishment, a special award ceremony was held. The highlight of the event was the presentation of a trophy, a symbol of our students’ hard-earned success.
In recognition of their exceptional performance, the highest-scoring students were invited to a delightful German breakfast. This special gathering celebrated their achievements with a culinary experience that offered a taste of German culture. Students enjoyed an array of traditional German delicacies, including pretzels, German bread rolls with a selection of German cheese, ham and salami, fostering an appreciation for the culture behind the language they excelled in.
