Red Nose Day

Two Leigh UTC students are shown working together on a computer.

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Friday 17th March, we at the UTC, will be taking part in ‘Red Nose Day’. This is a great opportunity for us to support such a wonderful cause and make a contribution to the charity.

On the day, we will be running a sporting event where students run or walk for two miles. During the event, there will be opportunities for students to win prizes and beat the teacher in a race.

We would like students to wear their PE kits to take part in the events. Students will also be able to wear an item of red clothing.

Below is a list of items students can and cannot wear:

What students can wear on the day:

  • UTC Navy PE t-shirt*
  • UTC Navy ¼ zip top*
  • Navy/black jogging bottoms/leggings/shorts
  • Sports shoes
  • Red socks
  • Red t-shirt

What students cannot wear on the day:

  • Jeans
  • Hoodies
  • Tracksuits that are branded

It is a privilege to be taking part in this event, so I ask that all students follow the correct dress code on the day. We have plenty of spare kit for students to borrow if they are unable to wear the items stated.

As this is a charity day, we ask if you could make a small donation to the cause – any money we can raise wil have a huge impact on other people’s lives. There will be members of staff standing by the entrance of the UTC doors and the IA building with a charity bucket for you to make your donation or you can donate via ParentPay, here: Red Nose Day. I thank you all in advance for your support with this event.

Kind regards,

Ben Young
