Dear Parents/Carers,
The death of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II is significant for all of us. During the Personal development time last Friday, students and staff reflected on the lessons that we can all learn from the Queen’s life and in particular her 70 years of service to our nation.
Over coming weeks we will continue to remember and celebrate the reign of the late Queen through a series of planned activities.
Following the announced date of the state funeral for H.M. Queen Elizabeth II our Academy will be closed on 19th September 2022 for one day. The Academy will be open as usual this week through the national mourning period.
We understand that during this time of mourning some members of our community may experience their own sense of loss and grief both for H.M. the Queen and for people close to them that are no longer with them. If you believe your daughter or son may need some additional support at this time please do not hesitate to contact your child’s Professional Development mentor or the relevant Student Services Manager for your child’s year group.
